I have a different BIF perspective to share. This bird started at Zero, went to 17000 MPH in 8.5 seconds Several of these, will be getting hung on my wall
These were shot with my 1DMKIIN + 300/2.8 IS + 1.4X II + 2x II = 840 @ F/8. ISO 800, AV Mode, EC + .07. 6 Miles away, on the west end of the East Causeway. Using GT3541XLS + Markins M20 + RRS Plates.
All images have had some slight adjustments in CS3, very light NR, very slight crop.
Thank you for all the compliments. #4 has had the most feedback, of all the images, posted thus far.

Great shots!
I think you mean 8.5 minutes. And, to be pedantic, does it start at zero, or ~900 mph due to Earth's rotation?
I agree that the fourth is very cool, and I also like the third where we can see the SSME exhaust clearly.
Not 8.5 minutes. From Launch til SRB separation, my time-stamps, only show about 3 Mins & 15 Seconds, in which the Shuttle is visible. The speed & time quote, came from one of the shooters', who has shot 16 Shuttle Launches, and usually shoots', from atop the VAB.
Thank you for the research. I was quoting a Photog', that has shot 16 Shuttle Launches. I myself, found that statistic to be awesome, but did not do any detailed research. However, whether it be Seconds or Minutes, either way, its an awesome event to shoot. I have a total time table of 3 Mins 10 Seconds, between Ignition & SRB separation.
