I have one for my Leica 90 cron (which I notice you have as well) and I like it a lot. It comes with a nice jig to help glue it on. It was recommended to me by Jim Buchanan. Maybe he will add his two cents as well.

I bought an adapter with one of these. Ended up ripping it off.

Why?

because of the "hard" blocking of shutter release until you get the confirmation signal" Feature.

I could never figure an easy way to turn this off, and what happens is a lot of time in low light, it won't lock on, and you can't fire the shutter at all. I was constantly missing shots.

There IS a way to defeat it, but as I say I never figured out how to go back & forth quickly. Maybe someone else can shed some light on that. The good thing is that if you do use this feature, you can adjust in electronically, for the specific lens installed. Thus you can get pretty good results using it. Kind of like having AF on a non-AF lens.

Thanks for the feedback guys, and i hope some else can shed some light on this issue, because this does not sound very good...i know after reading a fair bit on the instructions that you can turn this feature off permanently so i do not see the issue, if this is possible?

From what i can read you program the chip (hopefully not more than once) with the right focal length + f/stop and then you set the prefered "AF" or "MF" setting, and if i understand right will the "MF" setting be like all the other AF conf chips, with the exception of getting to input the right exif info for each lens, am i wrong...?

Instruction:

I really hope this is doable since i bought 3 of this chip for my Leitax conversion..

My experience mirrors what you are suggesting here. I don't know what cableaddict is talking about. I just programmed mine based on the manual in that link and I just mount the lens and take pictures like I always do. It does record EXIF data and it does AF confirm if I want it to. I did have the read the manual carefully to program the chip, but it wasn't all that hard at all. I hope this helps.
