Frank, Maark, Dennis and Bryan: Thanks! I appreciate your feedback.
Dennis: You're right about the crowd size. I made the death-defying climb to the top of the east-side stands on three separate occasions (second time, going from the field to the top without pause, near the top I feared for a moment I hadn't defied it!). Pre-game, I shot the band (see below). A short while before half-time I was shooting for full stands (see below: attendance was 44,000+ which is fairly close to capacity). Then I wanted to try to get the sunset (shot #1 above). With a 2:00 start and a 5:00+ sunset, I was up there just as the game was ending, and with the Utes having put this game away in the first quarter, lots of fans had left.
Russ, great series as always. Love #7. I have to sit down & rest a bit though, I got tired just thinking of all the climbing & running around you must have down, from the top, to the bottom, back to the top. Gee, I thoiught you just sat in one spot the whole game
Bob: Haha. Thanks for resting for me! The seemingly endless steps might not have been so bad if not for the extra weight of all the gear (that's my story and I'm sticking with it!). As for sitting in one spot, it certainly is an option. Usually I'm wishing I could be in two places at once. Thanks for your comments.
Thanks Mark. Nice to think that shot was worth the effort .
Pixel: In both those shots, lighting was such that it probably exceeded the dynamic range capacity of the camera, resulting in some slightly over- and some under-exposed portions to the shots. It was a bit of a balancing act.
