It was great of him to 'hang' around so long.
It was also nice of you to include the tip of your thumb for size comparison. . .
As I said before, a great interaction. . . . lucky you.

Wow, what a cool insect. Love the first shot. Is it stacked by any chance? You seem to have got quite a lot in focus.

Thanks Bruce, definitely a she though. Luck is what happens, eh?

Matt_3D. Thanks for your comment Matt. No stacking, just use of the acceptable field of focus (a term I have only heard Dalantech use, others may - I just don't remember right now, check him out), like so many others here use it. On a reasonably slow moving creature like this I make a judgement as to dof, which is relative, and aim for focus to make best use of it. Because the acceptable field is both in front of and behind the point of focus I aim somewhere into the subject with a view to keeping the fore of it in (the acceptable field of) focus. Getting the right angle to keep as much in the plane of focus helps too. I trust this makes sense?

Excellent angles Mark -several magic angles their making the most of the area of acceptable focus

What's the kelvin temp of your light? Looks a little on the cool side to me.
