p.1 #1 · Custom Brackets Gimbal

In the market for a gimbal head for my 500 f/4 and just seen these. Does anyone have experience or can comment on they compare to Wimberley?

Thanks

I don't think I would trust my $5500 dollar lens to it and I don't see how it could be better from a usage perspective when compared to a Wimberly or a Jobu true gimbal head. Looks cheezy.

"Looks cheezy." Gee, and I thought that Toyotas looked cheesy. Then my sister's outlasted two of my Detroit irons.

It looks a lot sharper than my genuine Bombay knockoff, if looks mean anything. It also looks nicer than the Wimberly.

Never used one but Custom Brackets makes decent stuff, and this looks pretty high end based on the pics...pretty pricey too but all of it is.

Look at all those knobs! Have no experience with it, but I'm wondering if the non-tubular design is as stable as the Jobu or the Wimberly. And it's $100 more at $700. The pan control knob appears to be in a terrible location unless you always prefer controlling the pan with your left hand. The Wimberley and Jobu pan knobs are both easily adjustable with either hand. I don't see anything about it that would compel me to spend more for it than a Wimberley or a Jobu.

I am using Wimberley gimbal II, foot plate and F1 bracket on 500L. Very solid combo, and still could handhold it if I need.
