p.1 #1 · Evening Bend

My last offering from this location, Murray River just outside of Tumbler Ridge, British Columbia, Canada, until I shoot it again, anyways. I have to return a month or so earlier than this August shot, when the sun sets almost dead center of this frame.

I was being devoured alive by bird sized mosquitoes while shooting this, with which no amount of repellent would repel, the bloodthirsty b@$t3rds! Because I was hurrying I wasn't thinking and only got 4 frames to merge instead of 5 as before, and so the view isn't quite as wide as I like or have taken at other times. I think I was using a cir-pol and 1 stop grad ND this time...

Anyway, C&C always welcome, rip on it!

This is really good and in MO a lot more interesting in colour than in B&w.

I like them both but this is lovely.

Great colors in this one. I actually think the tighter compostion works just fine.

I only have one critique. Perhaps it is just my eyes but the bottom right of the image appears to be lighter than the bottome left. I don't know if it is exposed differently or has a cooler color cast but it doesn't blend as well with the rest of the image.

plubbry, it's not your eyes, the lower right is a bit brighter in tone because of a little different geology and shrubbery. The bush in the center fg is on a little ridge which separates two slide areas on the left and right. There seems to be different kinds of aggregates on either side, plus there is more light coloured grass on the right, it must be an older slide, as well as the right side may be reflecting the post sunset glow, whereas the left side is in shadow of that. But all reasons/excuses aside, I see where it looks a little strange in the photo and is definitely something to address if/when I might print this. Thanks for that!
