p.1 #1 · Nepal- children shop-keepers

Kathmandu street scene.
#1 The girl was running the shop.
#2 Down the street, the boy's "shop" was spread out on the cloth.
Scanned from old prints.

Charlie,

These two are great! What film were you using back then?

Hey Charlie,

The #1 image (girl) is my favorite.

I think that is a wonderful portrait.

I like so much about it...including the activity shown, the light on her face, and the tilt of the box under her foot. Very nice composition within this image.

Well done.

Thanks for the feedback.
- I was using Tri-X back then, rated at ASA 400. Unfortunately, I just took the exposed film into local drug or camera stores when I got home, and they sent it out for processing. Some of the negatives weren't done well.
- Yes, life was hard for most of the people in economically poor countries back then. And it probably still is. In my travels I learned that people can and do adapt to most everything except starvation and fear of their "governments." More than other hardships, those two seem to be the most spirit-crushing. Children are even more buoyant- food and a loving family seem to be all they need to be downright happy.
