I was wondering if anyone would care re: water bottle. may bo back and remove it in post.
TY all for love and good insights. Doug, right now the vote is 2 to 2 on which formal is stronger. I couldn't decide, nor can the popular vote, so far.
16 is built on an evocative expression that tells us something about the bride's state of mind before the wedding. She's embracing one of her ladies, but she's a bit preoccupied by the momentous event ahead of her. This shot provides us with lots of well organized context for this moment. First and foremost, the hand and arm position of the bridesmaid in the foreground is one of the strongest parts of the shot. That arm suggests emotion, tension, anticipation, or joy. Perhaps she's preparing for the next hug. Perhaps she's getting ready to make a last-minute adjustment to the bride. Regardless of why, the hand enhances the dynamic nature of the storytelling. Another key element is the hint of motion blur of the bridesmaid's shoes in the bottom right. That adds a strong cue that this is a moment in motion... a fleeting thing that is happening on the way out the door. Without that BM's moving shoe, we wouldn't have nearly the sense of how temporary this moment was, and how the drama is moving inexorably toward the ceremony.
The action in this image is circumscribed by two framing diagonals, one on each side, which also create a less static feel to the image.
The biggest critique is that I'd love it if you could burn down the bouquet a little bit, which is getting lost in the open door.
Anyway, great work on this image. Its a good moment that builds in lots of storytelling cues, within a dynamic composition.

OMG Eb, that and the bouquet toss I thought you would have been allll over. TY for the detailed and thoughtful writeup, you know it's appreciated. PS tell the Mizzus thanks for the email, as well, from earlier!

PS bump - this was the first 1DsMkII 'real' tryout - the af for the nearly dancing in the dark moments of the performers, the machine was spot on, and made me a firm believer in the 1-series being worth the extra bux.

I've had those cheap plastic hangers crack under all the weight. I'm going to start bringing my own beautiful wood hanger to shoots. Too anal?? Gorgeous set, beautiful pp. Not too heavy on the actions which I like. Well done, guys!

I like how the bride's smiles get wider and wider as the day progresses!
7 - Love the colors
12 - I don't really "get" 12 left...as a female, I'd rather see the bling from the front than from the back!
16 - I wouldn't have appreciated this one as much without Evan's commentary. More commentaries in the future, Evan!
22 - Even though you see her smiling from ear-to-ear in 22 right, she doesn't look like she's enjoying the action in 22 left. Maybe due to the way the birdcage veil cuts down or perhaps the eyebrow shadow?

The jer.
Dope set. And looks like an anime. I loves the animes.
Everything is awesome as usually and I could lick on em but I'll give you my beefs. Too many portrait crops. I really like your close crops as well but felt the dominated. Wanted some more wide ones, (yes you have some of course but in my mind, wide horizontal shots should dominate the majority of a wedding set. I dunno. Just thinking out loud.)
