Most people can't even distinguish color at the level of accuracy that would justify a $1000-$2000 monitor anyhow. (Even people without a color "blindness" still may not have full color perception. And if you are a male, your chances are even higher.)
Too true. I would not spend more than $500 on a 22" or 23" display. The diminished returns do not, in my experience, justify the added price. I use a Dell 23" display; I'll have to get the exact product number when I get back to my workstation, but I think it cost somewhere in the $300 range. I find it to be quite adequate.
