I have to point out the owl similarity is a bit of a trick, although unintentional on my part.
The 'cowl' around the eyes is the antenna of the moth which would normally be held out and not hanging down. Also the wings on these moths are usually held out perpendicular to the body while the moths are alive, I've never seen a live one of these with the wings folded in the way these ended up.
