I heard the 50% coupons are no more, but there's a new 30% off one. I used the Codes Online Coupons site when I signed up and it worked. PM or email me if you want the URL, FM doesn't allow posting links.

Thanks, I will but.....
I tried the free trial last night and got really frustrated trying just to create a gallery and sub categories and after two hours I killed the trial.
It's a beautiful site but who wrote the account configuration setup.
I'm going to take a breather from it.
Rock, I had the same experience but now love the site once you create one gallery it will become a breeze and you can keep your settings to create more galleries within minutes then upload. The customer service is excellent any troubles fire a question to support they will detail it right back to you within a few hours most of the time with an example. Also use the blogs DGRIM affiliated with the site for codes and other help.
I have smugmug and LIKE it.......Setting up the Catagories, Subcatagories, and galleries is ackward at first......
Just remember this......A Gallery is what the pictures are in.......A catagory holds many gallerys..........and a (optional) subcatagories can further segregate it.......
I googled for coupons and seemed to find that the 50% off were no longer valid. I did find a 30% and used that one. That was about a week ago. I'm happy with the site so far. I've set it up a link from my "regular" to the smugmug site to sell photos, so I didn't do much customization of the smugmug site. You can check it out at www.SCVPhoto.net, and then click on the "Purchase Photos" option in the menu.
interesting layout choice larry. With your personal site being so simple and black and white I would have expected something very similar from your smugmug site. But that's just my opinion. Also, to save yourself on two hosting bills you could very easily host the entire site on smugmug, and just disable the shopping cart in all your galleries that are not for sale.
I've been using smugmug all this year, and despite my initial teething issues, and having to go through two complete reorganizations in order to really get the end result I wanted, I am now quite satisfied with my galleries broken down into what type of event it was, then sub categorized by who was running the event, and then galleries below that by date(sounds more complicated than it is, link at the bottom)
Smugmug allows you to do some great things, it's just a matter of getting it set up and you would be amazed. My site is actually an example of many of the customizations, drop down navbar at the top, slide show on the front page, and rather than using smugmugs cart system I used a paypal cart as it allows me to do my own printing rather than farming it out to a US lab and forcing my customers to pay in US dollars and ship from the US, and dodge the 15% smugmug profit commission in favor of paypal's 3% or whatever it is.
