wow I couldn't find a single D3 in the buy and sell.
I currently have one of mine on ebay, perhaps I should have listed it here...
Enjoy the weekend,
Jasin.

I have a hard time believing that ISO 1600 on the D3s is like ISO 400 on the D3. I know he said he didn't have his D3 to compare, but that definitely didn't translate for me when viewing the Nikon samples and Rob G's samples. It's definitely better but 2 stops at that ISO range?

I've also seen a video where he says he never (his words, not mine) shoots his D3 above ISO 200. So I agree - I wonder how accurate that statement is, especially since he apparently isn't used to higher ISO shooting.

However, If the D3s is really THAT good, I might get one myself! I stopped liking my D3 much above 1600 (only used 3200 a small handful of times), so if I can get ISO 1600 looking results at 6400, that might get my attention.

Me too Steve. But, I actually don't mind going up to 6400 for certain types of shots

Cheers,
Jeff

I think this is a much better review of the High ISO capabilities with many more examples:
http://www.robgalbraith.com/bins/content_page.asp?cid=7-10045-10329
it's from a thread about a week ago now. But for those of you wondering about the ISO performance...it's a better resource.

I agree that the RG site is a better resource. The problem with Mouse Peterson is that he would rave about a turd if it had the Nikon badge on it. Isn't Mouse sposored by Nikon? (I'm not sure about that so hopefully someone will correct me if I am wrong.)
