I've noticed more than ever recently that I am a considerably better photographer with my N80 in my hands than with my D700. I compose better and I like what I see a lot more than I often do with my D700.
I also prefer the view I get looking through my N80 over what I see in my D700. I did a bit of comparing today and it seems like the image I see in my N80 is magnified a bit more strongly at .75, vs the D700's .72. That seems like a tiny difference, and not something that should be noticeable. I know the N80 drops the viewfinder coverage to about 92%, vs. the D700's 95% or so.
I'm sure this seems very strange to just about everyone, but is there anything I can do to my D700 to increase the magnification power in the viewfinder?
To remove the viewfinder eyepiece, throw the eyepiece shutter lever to close the viewfinder. Then just unscrew the eyepiece (normal, counter-clockwise direction).
got the dk17m and dk19 and love it! i keep it tucked in most of the time, but it also serves as an extension piece almost, my face doesnt rub up against the lcd screen like it used too!
Using the DK-17m it can be a bit hard to see the corners and edges of the frame if you wear glasses. It should be no problem for those without glasses. To me, it's one of the must have accessories for a D700/D3(s)/D3x.

Is this something people with glasses generally get? Do people who don't wear glasses need/benefit from it?
i don't wear correction glasses but often need to shoot with sunglasses (cool factor and such ) and without eyecup it is very disturbing. it will cut the corners but they are rarely that needed. if anyway, you can always move a head a bit or check the LCD.
