I think this is my 1st post in here.
I have passed this tavern hundreds of times on my way up into the mountains and on this day I was out for a motorcycle ride with a visiting friend. I knew he was hungry and it was the last stop before the top.
After we sat down, I knew I needed to shoot this iconic place.
Needles to say, a single exposure wasn't going to cut it.
I have always liked HDR as a look, associated more with Art then photography in my book, as seen in this image where I try to push the envelope.
No special set up, just from my seat, 7 frames, handheld.

I like it as well. Nice textures on the wood and floor. The more I look the more I see. Well done.

Thanks also, yea, love the texture in those old roof tiles, seen a lot of cold and wet in the winters up here that last for 9 months.

I really love the image and think the comp is quite interesting. I love HDR and think that this picture would look better without the extreme levels of highs and lows. Maybe toned down a bit. Some of the best HDR's are more subtle, hard to even tell they are HDR. Of course, that may be what you were going for. To each his own...JMHO.

I stopped there twice last year, both times for lunch. The second time I was sitting in the booth right behind where this shot was taken, so the view grabbed me immediately. Loved seeing all the dusty stuff on the walls, reminded me of my father's workshop and my grandfather's barn, only with food and drink. Fun little dive, and you've captured it well. Only thing missing are the swarms of houseflies. Don't tell where it is, or it'll suddenly become a yuppie hangout.

Here's an HDR image that I actually like a lot. The only thing that's bothering me is that I really really want to see the perspective straight. It's off just enough to be a bother and not enough to be on purpose. Try straightening and I think it will be even better than it already is. Next stop: 24m Tilt-Shift!
