p.1 #1 · Next Camera Body Dilemma?

Hello all,

I'm in the market for another camera body for my kit, and I'm having a hard time deciding which way to go. I'm just looking for some opinions to see what I should do. Firstly, I haven't shot anything professionally for years(I was using film back then!!)....kind of a career change awhile ago....I'm getting back into shooting and getting back into weddings/portraits. I also really enjoy landscapes and fine art shooting. My current gear setup is....

16-35 2.8L mk1
70-200 2.8L IS
1D mk2
30D - selling this
gripped 10D - selling this
and some strobist setups

Now, I have a few options for the next body and I'm just a little unsure which way I want to go.
1. I can get a 1Ds mk2 and add a full-frame to my setup and use the extra batteries I have and all.
2. I could also go with a 1D mk2N and get the most accurate focusing body (that I see alot of people think) and use the extra batteries I have.
3. I can get a 1D mk3 and just keep my 1d mk2 as a backup/second body.
4. Get the 1D mk3 and sell all my other cameras and see if I can get a 1Ds classic, or save up and get a 1Ds mk2 next year.

OMG I just don't know which way to go!?!?! Any help or thoughts on my dilemma would be appreciated.

Thanks to everyone for taking your time....
Take it easy,
Mike

How about sell the 10D, 30D and 1D2 and pick up a 5D and 1D3?

Hi Michael,
Have you considered a 5D mkII, since you already have a 1D2, I wouldnt even bother thinking about getting a 1D2N, same camera, with larger rear screen a larger buffer.
If you have a need for using your cameras at high ISO, then consider the 5D2, if your always on a tripod doing landscape work, consider the 1Ds2 or 5D2, the thing about the 5D2 is that you also get high def video, even if you think you will never use it, its a great thing to have, who knows, you might dabble with it, and end up turning into a videographer....plus your wedding clients I'm sure wouldnt mind a high def video short of there wedding, Still photos + high def video = more $$$.

Hey thanks for the ideas guys, but I must say that I really love the feel on the 1-series cameras. Once I picked up and used one I couldn't touch my other cameras.....I just don't like the feel on the xxD cameras. That being said, I've never held a 5D so I'm not sure it's the same, but it sure looks like it would be the same feel.

The other thing I just thought about is that maybe I should just go with the 1Ds2 and keep the 1D2 until the 1D4 comes out. Then I can see how much the prices will fall on the 1D3?! I'm sure that once people have used the mk4 and see that it's not going to have any of the same issues that the 1D3 market will become flooded with units everyone is selling off.

Just another option.......*sigh*

Thanks for your opinions!!!
