I'm away on business travel and I received an email this afternoon:

Your image has been chosen by our guest photographers, Don Gale, David Maynard & Mike Moats, to be 1 of 20 favorites from the Tamron Macro Photo Contest. This image will be posted on our website shortly.

I'm not sure what happens after this, but I'm flattered to say the least. The prize is the new Tamron 60mm f/2 Macro lens and ironically enough just yesterday at George's Camera in San Diego I met a Tamron rep and asked if I could try the new lens. He mounted it on a 7D...very nice lens and I would love to have one for portraits.

Here you can see my photo (Blue Dasher, smile you're on camera!) photo towards the bottom left. That made the top 20 of 1602 submissions.

p.s. My shutter died in my Canon 30D first day out in La Jolla shooting harbor seals with a Canon 300mm f/2.8 IS lens...DOH...long story for some other time to explain...in the end I had a rental 50D.
