www.jclayphoto.com encourages all couples to bring friends along, as they make excellent assistants with the lighting gear! (But seriously, thanks for the help!)
I typed it out before I input it into Firefox's spell checker. Now, I can't edit it without my fail-spell being in PrevHist for the entire world to see. Awwww nuts.
To be honest jerm, i don't think this set measures up to your usual standard.
I'm so used to and have grown to like your "i'monna throw this flash
in yo face" style, and miss it here.
Also, you cropped at the ankles...a lot in this set. Any reason? or just
happened?
Nice set. I like it a lot. Really follows your 'style.' My only nits are the couple get a little lost in 22. And a minor thing for me (from a presentation perspective) is that in 23, their head sizes don't quite correspond. Maybe size down hers a bit? Cheers, Martin
I haven't been around long enough to know the quality of your work, but I think these are fabulous. #3,4 and 5 look like they are straight out of a magazine ad. My personal faves are 19 and 30 Love those both lots

Perfect example of "different strokes for different folks"...
I've seen a lot of JClay's work this year and happen to think this is one of his best.... if not THE best e-sesh he's posted here. This set just flows from beginning to end. The couple seems relaxed and the photography/processing mesh really well with that relaxed feel.
I know being critiqued on photographic "amputation" is one of your pet peeves, right up there with "you didn't use your white towel for exposure."
However, I'll make the observation that exactly 40% of these images feature a crop of the legs below the knee. I'm curious as to whether this is a conscious stylistic choice, something that just "looks right" to you, or whether you didn't realize it. I'm not critiquing it one way or the other, just observing a trend.
I dig the choice of "car" for this bunch as well. shots like 5 are always taken with the idea that they might work. Rareely do they though. Your works rather well however. Hair movement etc.
of 3 and 4 I dig 4. More DOF FTW.
9 is magic tricks
15 shows her sweetness
19 shows her hotness
Didn't dig 18. I see what you were going for. Comes off kinda clumsy though.
I would have liked 14 a bit lower angled. Random dudes either make or break a shot. I didn't think it help in this case.
She's a total hottie in 30. His new wallpaper watch.
7 will make grandma happy; 9 and 29 are compositionally well done; 30 is noooice, although not your usual style. Very intimate, clean crisp and colorful. Oh yeah and the couple gets lost in 22.
My final question, though, is... what? no expensive sports car?
