Just picked up an SC-29 cord, and for some reason the flash wont go into TTL BL mode with the cord on, it just stays in "manual" TTL mode, meaning I have to choose all the settings and nothing is being communicated from the camera other than the fact that the flash still fires.
Am I missing something here?
Shooting with a D3, 28-70 f/2.8 and an SB-800, the flash works perfectly and goes right into TTL BL when directly connected to the camera. I tried resetting the flash and that didn't help.
You should not have any issues with the connection like this. Mine is solid. The only one thing I will say is that you do have to have fresh batteries in the falsh when using the SC-29 cord. If the flash acts strange, try changing the batteries 1st thing.
