I have always been intrigued by photography implying this emotion. You have carried this well and the feeling is there. In response to this I am posting an older shot that I feel carries the same mood. We can now start a string with the varied views of this forum. I hope you enjoy this.

Not entirely sure.
I think the bright lights, extreme contrast, geometric pavement and upright position evoke the feeling of someone on a stage.

Thank you Dennis! I like your image! The contradiction between "Have Fun" and " the two lonely man is very well seen.

I like your shot, but agree with Scott on the feel of it.
It's strange how some of the best captures of a lonely soul may find that individual amongst a crowd around him or her. I wonder if a less pristine setting would make a difference...
Anyhow, great shot. I just don't read lonliness in it is all. My impression is one who is "patiently waiting."

I have to agree, I get no real feeling of loneliness, rather more one of solitude. The added image by Dennis seems to express loneliness better with four individuals who do not interact with one another. Their postures also telegraph more emotion.
