The Rock, Morro Rock that is, in the fog.
From the first evening in Morro Bay, in August. High but dense fog shrouded the upper reaches of the Rock, and of course the seagulls soaring around.
This is hand held, looking almost straight up.
Something kept pulling me to process this....I thought it might possibly work as a b&w as well.
very nice barry, the movement really makes this one (and i like the lone standing one on the cliff even better if that is a bird) . the color version is for me!
Great eye really like the uniformity of the birds, the detail of the cliff really enhances this cool takeaway as well. I really like both versions here, nicely seen Barry
Great comp! For me it's the color version, some of the different shades of brown map to the same gray, and so some of the subtlety of the color is lost in the B&W (in my opinion).
Nice pair - but once again I will stick with my usual color obsession out of the two. The shades of gray don't offer quite as a nice a set of contrasts as the colors on the cliffs.
