p.1 #1 · Impressions of Fall (2)

Since I posted my first set of images and I noticed a few people on the board are into producing this type of effects by employing camera movement with long exposures. For me, the effects are often unpredictable, thus yielding some unexpected results, some good and some bad. I especially like the painting-like looks of these images which can transform ordinary places into something that could elicit or evoke certain feelings and emotions, at least for me.

Here is another set of images, taken essentially at same location. This time, I attempted to include some human figures. Tough to make them look abstract while still recognizable though.

I am sure these images are not for everyone as they may hurt your eyes.

C&C welcome. Thanks for looking.

I like these very much, especially the ones with the person (cyclist?) included. The last is great.

Thanks, ScaryFox. Glad you do. Yeah, the last one was my daughter riding a bike.

I guess this is not a popular genre here.

Another beautiful series. I am enjoying your photos very much. The human elements are well done. As you said that is NOT EASY to do.

I have been posting these kind of photos here for quite a while. They are becomming more popular since William Neill has being doing camera movement in the US and writing about it.

I also really like the 2nd and 4th.
Your pp and deep shadows surrounding your daughter add a wonderful sense of mystery to these.

Hi, teked, glad you like.

The settings are all over the place. I try to limit the exposure between 1-3 sec and apertures are usually quite small and ISO is low due to long exposure. Although these are all made with L lenses, the good thing is probably you can get away with a crapy lens. These were taken at dusk (pretty dark already). I have to rely on PP to bring colors out.

Hope this helps.
