Thanks, Hung. I should be using a polarizer on those water shots, but I don't have one and can't afford to lose two f-stops in that poor lighting.

Thanks, Linda. My wife can't stand to watch the fish spawning. It is rather sad seeing the fish struggle upstream and their physiology decline so rapidly.

Thanks, Mark. I like gulls best when they are backlit. You would not believe how many gulls we can get when the fish are spawning. They often number in the tens of thousands.

This is a great documentary series. It looks like the Little Qualicum is a magnet
for wildlife and you're very lucky to live nearby. I've been to Vancouver Island 20+
years ago and I stayed at a motel on Qualicum beach. I can't remember the name of that motel but I still remember the beautiful sunset
on that day and I took a picture of that sunset,making a poster size print and it's still hanging on the wall.
I want to visit there again.

Tony I`m a few islands north of you ( on Prince of Wales ) & have been trying for years to document a very similar ecosystem without success. Anyone never having tried it probably will not realize the difficulty involved in attempting to shoot spawing & spawned out salmon with any degree of visual appeal. Also its very hard to get interesting shots of seals with only the head visable above the surface of the water. You have done an extraordinary job of this. I congratulate you. Now if there was some way to include the odor in the air during the run. Those that have not experienced it cannot possibly imagine. Thanks for sharing. Take care. Bob
