p.1 #1 · Liightroom deleting catalogs or quick collections

I have some files on LR2.5 that i would love to delete from it. I got the files deleted from my hard drive "pictures" folder, but the jpeg preview images and the listing persist on LR's library.

Is there a step or two that will get this item out of my library? It has about 250 photos in it and tends to open when I first get into LR, which is a major annoyance.
Thanks

Hope I haven't misunderstood the issue, but I think you can solve this by right clicking on the folder list on the lefthand side of the Library module and select "Synchronize Folder".

If you do file maintenance from within Lightroom (moving, deleting etc.) your hard drive and LR will stay in sync. If you deleted the pictures from windows explorer, just go into LR, right click on the folder you no longer want to see, and tell it to delete.

thanks, I use a Mac, but the synchronize tip worked. The irritating jpegs were removed, and the only thing that remained was the name of the file, which persists in LR but not on the hard drive. One of these days I will know it well enough not to have to ask you guys.

Adobe did tell me once that their game plan is a new version of their products every 18 months. Maybe I will live long enough to get at least even with the curve.

Regards

Herb
