I like #2 & #3- not because they are the most eye catching, but because they are a bit different of a street shot than most.

Thanks for the post.

Thanks all. I know you guys/gals hate going off site to other slide shows or galleries, but there's probably 50 shots total. NYC is a two hour Jersey Shore train ride for me so I hit it early for a Video seminar at BnH which sucked beyond belief, they should offered some compensation even though it was free, it not like I live on 9th. Anyway shot before and after and will be branching out to HD video for various projects and one will be a fast moving came through the streets. Just a few quick note on the shots posted here on the forum.
1. Tried very hard for this shot to work but the angle of the building, background noise always kept if from really coming together.
2. Very smelly vent and no one was doing that and everyone thought I was nuts and paid me no mind which was perfect. there is another steam shot in the gallery.
3. Being a staff newspaper guy by trade with the constant layoffs and furlough I loved the worn out boot at the crusted NYTimes vending machine, just needed something to come together in the background. Looked good in color too.
4. Liked the fact that the ad was for a cancer thing and the girl in bkgrd was smoking and will probably soon be in her own ad (obvious ex smoker preaching here, sorry).
5. Shot this lady and then felt bad as she was just removed from the front of a Starbucks, nice coat though, but she didn't get far and sat again. I went over, put my cam aside and introduced my self and she welcomed the company. I asked her when she ate last, she said yesterday and ask if she wanted breakfast. I bought, we sat, and talked for a while, not about her situation or mine, but talked, a human moment, very very cool. Her name was Flo, beautiful lady. We are all connected and we could easily be her at any time.
6. The world from George M. Cohan's penis as he proudly survey's Time Square.
7. This is all of us wrapped into two smiling "chimping" faces.

Again, thanks for looks and the comments.

Tom, You're being overly critical of yourself on #1. I can't think of a better mirror image than the the man walking his dog. The fact that it's not a perfect mirror image is actually BETTER -- anyone can do a mirror copy in Photoshop, but you've got the real thing. The angles are great, the symetry of the bldg superstructure makes the image powerful...

And, for some reason I can't explain, #1, 2, and 3 look like they belong together. Good job.

I was drawn to #5 prior to reading your story about Flo. What captured my attention was the full length fur? coat. In my opinion, Flo really depicts our collective economic experience where many have been forced from the facade of city life to the harsh realities of its urban streets. As you well said, we all can find ourselves sharing Flo's reality. Thank you for posting.

All are really nice B&W shots, but #2 is Excellent! Great perspective that makes for a very interesting shot. Good eye. BTW, I'm happy to go to the gallery to see more.

Thank you for the responses. Andy, thanks for the extra time to click off to the gallery. Also thanks for the responses to #2, very dank and smelly place to kneel there for about twenty long frames. My eight year old daughter hugged me when I got home and went whoa, hit the shower. Chevyt, the Flo thing struck me and it was a really good feeling and seemed to make her day, I know it helped mine. It's a wonder more people don't take the time, but it's a busy world out there, no judgment meant. Dogs point of view, love that. thanks
