I have a Canon EF 600mm f4 AF IS like new for sale. It has no marks, including UV filter, owners manual, case, and lens cover.

This Lens the makes very clear shots. I want $5,975.00 USD cash for the lens. I bought it used and the previous owner only used it a few times. I have only used it a few times and looks and works fantastic. Need to sell it, I can use the money for other toys . My email is [email protected]

Hi............that's an image OF the lens not FROM the lens The date code is important, without that people have no idea how old the lens is, you can find it easily, here is a link to help you:

Yes, my ebay is internedder. My pbase.com is downdraft. I am an airline pilot by trade and a hobby photographer. The lens is nice but visibility is poor in Chengdu China. I use my 100-400 Canon and never use the 600mm. I hope this helps.

Downdraft, suggestion.. To gain confidence in your sale; Take some photo's of the lenses optics. Set the 600mm on a safe sturdy table, so that you can look through the lens, with the caps removed.. Remove the caps and photograph one shot focused good on the front big glass surface of the 600mm, carefull not to focus past the front glass; or infront of the front glass.. Ensure that your camera is supported well, so there is no motion blur. Position the 600mm lens so there is a nice reflection of an open window in the front glass of the 600mm; the reflection off the surface of the front glass should show up as an off colored cast by the coatings, this should show the condition of the surface of the front glass, another shot through the big end with your camera's lens set to a small aperture, so everything from the front optic of the 600mm to the back optic of the 600mm is in focus; with rear cap removed, with illuminated background, to show the condition of the internal optics; then another shot through the little end of the 600mm just as the image above, small aperture maximum depth of focus, with illuminated background showing through the 600mm lens's open caps, to show the condition of the internal optics of the 600mm..

A couple sample shots taken with the 600mm lens of nearby complex scenery; with bright and dark area's and close and far subject matter, one shot wide open at F4 with good focus on a subject such as a fence, small bush, or someones pet? you want to show the quality of bokeh that this lens can produce, plus the sharpness at F4! The other sample shot taken with the 600mm should have the aperture stopped down to around f16-f22, aimed towards nearby scenery, to show the performance of the lens stopped down. The sample shots and images of the lense's optics should be uncropped, minimal to no post processing, resize images to around 1000 pixels on the long side for ease of viewing.. (avoid camera sharpness/contrast/saturation settings)set the camera's image settings to something like "faithfull" or "nuetral" I think these would be good camera settings for the sample shots taken with the 600mm, so that post processing does not impart qualities to the image that shouldn't be there. A prospective buyer of a 600mm F4 will know what they are looking for and should compare the results to a competent lens review and make their decission only after actually using the lens in person and should not bring CASH to the preview, and should always do the deal in a secure location, such as, the bank lobby. Avoid wire transfere's or personal checks. It is alot of money, you want your buyer to be comfortable with the transaction, in a safe place, and you want them to know they are getting a good lens for the money. You want to be carefull when allowing someone to inspect the lens, you don't want to invite someone to your home, unless you are secure and not worried about theft/robery, and you don't want to meet someone out in the middle of nowhere.. ensure that the 600mm lens is securely supported, such as on a good tripod, keep a hand on the tripod to prevent accidental tipping while they are looking through the lens/camera.. Make sure you are safe and secure and that you are willing to make the transaction in a safe place like at your buyers bank lobby.

Kraig C thanks for the advice, I will be in the USA around the end of November, anyone that is interested in the lens I will be happy to let them inspect it. I am a pilot not a photographer and have fun taking photos. I just purchased the lens and used it a few times like I said. The lens is like new and to me works great but you guys are more experienced inj this field. I will take some photos and try to see what I can do and post a few pics here for you guys to see. Thanks

Just for the record, I was the member who bought this bad boy and I'm feeling pretty good about it right now. It really looks and performs like new.

I initially contacted Downdraft by email in response to this thread but I never left a post here saying so. I will post feedback for him as soon as the feedback button appears.

Now let me edit my profile to include my new toy. (Grinning)
