Had a few minutes early this week so headed back to Whatcom Falls Park in Bellingham, WA. Was greeted to very foggy overcast conditions that slowly burned off. The first image is a 5 shot Vertical Pano, I really need to Thank Don Hall on suggesting these Vertical Panos some much detail. Image #2 not sure if it is working my first real abstract all the fall colors were reflecting in the pond and this scene just caught my eye. Suggestions on crop or any other feedback appreciated.
Nice bit of mist rising from the falls makes a really nice comp Ray. I would be tempted to brighten the left, or darken the right side for better balance. The second image is a killer!
Ray, nice place - but the horizontal line created by the pano a quarter of the way down in #1 is a little distracting. Do you have a single exp. of it. Rick
I'll second the need to balance the light, easier to darken the right side...Nice comp and exposure.
Andrew made me laugh (shame about the bird, though!)... I have to to agree

Ray Still
I know it! I didn't start doing these (I call them "detail panos") until very recently but I can't get over the quality of them. It's stunningly awesome... I'm hooked!
Number 1. is a great shot, Ray! Very surreal in a way but incredibly beautiful. What a place, and what a nice shot!
Number 2. doesn't do it for me... What are we looking at? A pigeon or a gray sea gull?? Or?... I think minus the bird it would be a neat shot.

Hi, Ray. I must need new eyes. I cannot see the line that Rick mentioned.
I think the first shot is wonderful. I like the light on the right side opposing the darker misty-like surroundings on the left. Since the light seems to be coming from the right side, it would be interesting to see what lighting up the mossy rocks on the left might do to this.
I really like the reflection shot, with the exception of the bird. Otherwise, a real beauty.
Great job on #1. Boy, I really like the soft/hazy light in that one. You worked it well! Now, #2 does work for me. I have the same question as Tim Hallam, cause it sure looks like a pigeon to me... I hope you took a shot without a bird in it. Now with the bird in it, I would crop it slightly to just move the bird just a bit more to the right of the frame. Since there is movement in the water around him, have him look more like he is coming into the frame.
You get a standing ovation for me on these two, Ray. I love the first...the soft light and wonderful clarity of the shot works with the soft mist and the second is gorgeous. That bird knows it looks good - what a pose.
Ray, it likes magic. That line I mentioned - which was sooo obvious to me every time I looked at it, and no one else mentioned is miraculously gone. I like it even better now. How strange. I hate it when your computer plays games with you. Looking good. Rick
Hi, Ray. I prefer the last edit. And, I just really like this shot a lot. It's a beautiful comp. Next time I get up your way, I would like to visit this spot.
Gorgeous result with the pano. I'm inclined to select the first version which is a nice balance between the second (which is too dark on the left IMO) and the third, (which is a tad too light on the left and bottom center.)
