Throw a rock.. . Edgewater has some great areas. Summit and New Providence. Morristown has some good spots as well... If you want to venture a little further south, Westfield/Cranford are good. New Brunswick and Princeton are good... but they are central NJ.
How far are you willing to drive? Terhune Orchard in Princeton is an awesome place to go apple picking and I imagine would be fun for pictures. I don't know if it's open in November, but I seem to remember going there then. Hmmm. We don't have orchards down here, and I'm very bummed about that.
I used to live in Morristown, not bad but much nicer places like princeton, or even hoboken if you want to put a little urban into it.
One of the best things about NJ is you can have a beautiful park smack dab in the middle of a very urban area, this way you can get traditional and edgy photos without walking far
i will look into the orchard. not sure they are willing to travel 2 hours to go shoot. they are asking me if I know any parks in the immediate areas because they don't want to travel too far. UGH...
Hoboken might be a good idea.. That isn't THAT far. Just thought maybe some people had a better idea of the area than I do.
I think princeton is out. As is anything more than 45 mins away.
KForum: do you know any off the top of your head? that would be the best of all worlds.
Being a New Yorker, I can't stand the damn jug turns, the misplaced traffic lights in the middle of highways, and everything else. I almost cried when I found out Jersey was trying to annex Staten Island back in the day.

Richard.. Where are you located? Care to elaborate a little on specifics?

Ryan.. I'm located in central NJ... you want more specific than what I already gave you? I'm not exactly sure how to answer that... actual street addresses and sketched shot ideas? I'm joking... but really that's an impossible question to answer one person's shitty neighborhood is another person's great brick wall backdrop. People have given you some awesome ideas, here... you need to hop in the car, explore and find some spots for yourself... that fit the vision you see for the shoot.
another good spot. I'm a landscape architect and I went to school at Rutgers... spent many days in those gardens, working, learning and just killing time. the bamboo gardens are awesome, but a little creepy at night.

Oh man, it sure is creepy, even on a cloudy day.
The semi-dry river bank right next to the bamboo gardens is a sweet place to take pictures!
Richard: Maybe not street addresses persay, but yeah.. specifics.. I don't really have the time to drive around to find a spot (sadly) I am just visiting for a couple days and this was a last minute thing with a limited time slot.
I think we are planning on the Botanical Gardens in Ringwood.. Although I will definitely keep the Bamboo part in mind for sure..
