jkermani Offline Upload & Sell: Off p.1 #1 · I couldn't get the shot Due to lean economic times we've had to move from our house to an apartment. This morning I was sitting here feeling sorry for myself and I won't even tell you what I had to go through just to make coffee since half of the coffee maker is lost, when suddenly I heard a racket outside like rusty door hinges and a scream. Being nosy I opened up the drapes only to see a gaggle of wild turkeys squawking like they do running after a girl who had screamed and was talking on her cell phone. The faster she went down the sidewalk, the faster the turkeys ran, I guess they were looking for something to eat! It was the funniest sight I've seen in a while and I thought about getting my camera, but remembered it was buried behind a mound of boxes and it will take days to get to it. I didn't even think about my Iphone, darn it. Anyway, the whole thing brightened my mood and I remember we're not too far away from a regional preserve where the turkeys probably came from and that I'll have time someday to go exploring, as soon as I dig out of these boxes! I'm hoping we'll be back in our house in 18 months, but in the meantime I'm going to enjoy a new experience as much as possible. I was dumping a memory card the other day and I had my 1d II next to me with the 70-200 on it... I look up out the window and 2 infant porky pines walk 6 feet from the window.... I jumped so fast and didnt even think I just put the camera to my face and let it rip... they walked out of site and I looked down. and read no card available.... I've heard of chickens with their heads cut off, but not turkeys. Surfnron, thanks for the link to the coffee press, I'd like to try that and I think I will order it. Thomas, that is a nice turkey capture, and in the wild too, not running down a city street! Thanks for posting. Macro, I have had that same thing happen to me so many times! Too bad the SLR's didn't have an internal memory for just such occasions. Martin, thanks for your good wishes. Tim, I am partial to a good Oregon Pinot too, plenty of berry notes, perfect with fowl!
