It does and it works quite well. I always like the hay bale images I see. This one adds an additional element of interest along with an excellent perspective.
Like the processing on this one.

Well done.
The girl's body position makes me think she's playing a game of hide-and-seek, but the distance between the hay bales creates a fascinating conflict with that idea. Perhaps these children can run really, really fast?

I love the human element is this otherwise traditional landscape/farm scene.
My first story was "hide n' seek.'
Second story was, "we walked to school barefoot in those days. Uphilll in the snow. Both ways! And we didn't have any fancy farm machinery either. We rolled bales by hand!!!"
I love everything about this image. I've shot a lot of hay bales, and they all looked like, well...hay bales. The girl and her posture add a very curious element, that makes me look to the background to see what she's looking at. Interesting stuff. The crop gives this wide shot even more depth, drawing the viewer in.

This is my favorite monochrome of yours Jim. Is this a re-edit?
thanks again for the comments,,
Thanks John,, yes this is a re-edit, the previous version was a little to dark for my tastes so I made a lighter version which I think works better,, I always really liked this shot and its storyline qualities, it too is one of my favs
