Thx for the link, I'll install it and verify how it works in the weekend.
I'll have to say once again that it is of academic interest to me, as I only see the phenomenon when I provoke it.

I must say that it is good to see Canon reacts fast, and in the right manner. A welcome departure from the not-so-distant past.

I recall very quick FW updates for both the 50D (IIRC something with err messages) and the 5D2 (black pixel BS).

Strangely they took a lot longer with their fix for the mkIII

Always wait at least 6 months before buying any new Canon gear is a rule I won't abandon for sure...

I bought a 7D hot outta the oven and have yet to experience any of the glitches or QC issues of posters. In fact, it's the nearest to perfect of any new EOS I have owned, and I've owned many. I'm utterly amazed at the accuracy of the spot focus feature and the high rez with low noise. Flash and ambient metering is kickass. I waited 6 month to a year after release to buy the 10D, 20D & 5D. Hell the 10D/20D didn't focus very well nor have reliable flash metering, my 5D LCD was nearly invisible during daylight hours and Canon never bothered to fix those issues with FW or hardware updates. My "crippled" 7D pretty much whips all my prior cameras, so I'm happy. Kudos to Canon for being upfront with even the most minor of issues and quickly fixing it. I don't doubt there were and will be problems, but they often don't impact most photogs.

I wish Apple would update the Aperture RAW driver as quickly as CAnon nailed the FW...

FYI: I haven't seen the ghosting issue (but haven't tested/looked), but Firmware 1.10 installed just fine for me.

Just be thankful you don't use Nikon software... they've only just recently upgraded to be compatible with the Mac Leopard OS... a month or two after Snow Leopard was released...

Could be worse, I suppose... Nikon's scanner support hasn't been updated since 10.5 (Tiger).

Normally, Canon requires you to give a serial number to be able to download a firmware but not this time around. Not that it matters...

10.5 was Leopard. 10.4 was Tiger. Did you mean 10.4?

Yep, you pretty much have to buy SliverFast or VUEscan if you need current scanner apps. Both Nikon and Canon are really slow to the draw with scan driver updates.
