p.1 #1 · Quinault Valley last shots..at last!

A last pair from my circuit around the north shore of the lake. I had a number of fence comps, but kept the simplest. The other demonstrated some nice framed autumn colors.

Nice stuff, Tim. I particularly like the second image here. Excellent composition.
The first shot reminds me of my great grandparents old Coos Bay property I used to visit years ago before they passed away. They had an old fence post or two like that.

I like that old fence - there were a number of neat angles for the light and the colors and this was a nice spot near the trail. Was the second shot taken on the same day as the fence? That seems more like the light that was out along the trail the next day.

Cool stuff really like the worn look of the fence in #1 and the rich greenery that contrast with it, not a everyday scene from the Rain Forest, great find here Tim

I like both shots a lot, Tim. I love fences. I think it is interesting to have that fence in the midst of all that growth. Is that for horses? Doesn't seem like it would hold cows. I really love the second - the splash of yellow is so pretty and the strong greens work very well.

Alan, the two were shot on the same day. We were visited twice that day by some sunshine. About a minute per occasion.
Sharon, I have no idea about what kind of stock was there, just some decaying fence line returning to mulch. These few sections were across from a gated side, and attached to a tree. The forest seemed intent on reclaiming the section.

As you know, I really like the second one. The way you caught the light tree amidts the thickness of the forest is sweet.
The first tells a great story. I would like to see this with a touch less contrast though.

Hello Tim, really fine, detail images. I particularly like the fence. The two bright verticals do a wonderful job of creating a 3-D look. Perhaps slightly less levels on the second one

Hi Tim ,

Definitely a profitable day . I love to see pictures like the first where nature sets about reclaiming its own ! I also appreciate that striking glimmer of sunshine in the midst of the sombre forest riot --- such an effective , luminous glow . Like you , I am becoming more adept at catching some of those one-minute sun glimmers

Any chance of transferring the skill to the beach sunset environment ?

That first one is pretty cool Tim. I like the way the fence almost blends into the background but remains the focal point. Very nice.

I agree, the second fence is really nice, I love the vibrant green. Whenever I come across something old, I always wonder who built it.

Love the fence, pal! Very cool find! (yes, perhaps a wee touch less contrast?)
The 2nd with the beautifully backlit color is really excellent.
