p.1 #1 · Need Advice: 1D Mk 3 "Blue Dot" Version

Someone has offered me a really good deal on a 1D Mk3 'blue dot' version and I'm tempted but still confused about what exactly that means. Are these cameras sent back to Canon to correct auto focus issues or newer versions recently off the Canon production line. Can someone clarify.

Thanks!

Forget about dots and dates, etc. Just call Canon with serial number of the camera and if it needs the latest fix, they will pay for shipping up and back and extend the warranty.

Does this work for a used camera?

When I bought a used 1D MKII and later a used 1D MKIIN, I registered each, and later when I sent each in for repairs, everything was covered and returned within a week on both of them (separate repair times).
I don't think you will have a problem.

Yes, if it's a good really deal, go for it - if it hasn't had the latest fix Canon will cover necessary repairs & shipping. Most people have been very happy with their camera's after that (most recent) fix has been performed.

Yes, doesn't make any difference if it is used it is covered under a model wide recall program.
