Reminds me of one of my regular gigs, the Vans Warped Tour:

How to cool off:

And these crowds:

I would take mud over beer in my gear any day, the smell lingers long after the wipedown.

The thought of the mud hardening in place sort makes ones stomach turn (those who save their pennies for such equipment).

Just don't let him send that 5D2 to Antarctica--might get wet.

Is that from Canon's version of Ken Rockwell?

My guess is as long as he owns the camera.

Good guess, since he's not likely to own the camera after it quits working.

In fact, he probably doesn't own it NOW (probably owned by his employer).

Seriously, what would be the best way to clean these cameras? As for the Danes, they're all crazy!! (Speaking from genetic experience here!)

I appreciate people that use their tools as tools and not prissy little status symbols. This guy is awesome.

Don't they have plastic bags over there?

It's nice to think that your gear can take a lickin' but, IMHO, that borders on abuse.

Do any of you guys who think that is a cool way to use your Canon bodies want to buy used ones that have been treated this way?

I also noticed the sock hanging out of his jacket, obviously used to mop the mud off the lens' front element. NICE.

Lol.

Those are some amazing shots though. There's one of a guy's butt with a nike swoosh that I'd bet Nike would pay for.

You want to work, you use your tools. With care, everything comes clean unless you were shooting at the next Chernobyl.

That would be a "clean day" for me after shooting motocross in the mud! I slipped, fell, and landed on one of my 1 series bodies at Budds Creek. The entire body, 70-200 and all, was completely submerged in a foot of mud. It made that sound like toilet plunger when I pulled it out. I wiped it off, changed the filter, and kept shooting without missing a beat. I think it's funny the way some FM'ers baby their gear.

Photos! We want photos!

What was his assignment? It's worth it if it was a female mud wrestling contest.

There's a guy on PoTN who recommends cleaning your lenses in the most an4l of ways. Takes about half an hour, use one "pass" of a cloth etc etc.

Showing him this picture would make him sh1t his pants.
Followed by a coronary.

No he is just glad to see you.

BTW not all(hardly any these days) News photographers use Staff gear. It is likely that gear belongs to him.
