p.1 #1 · CS3 running slow

All of a sudden CS3 is running really slow and I can't figure out why. It's on a 80G harddrive with 42G free. I have two other hard drives in the computer. D drive is a 400G with 170D free, E drive is a 400G with 152G free.
Is it possible that I've done something to make it run slower?

I also have CS4 on the machine and it seems to perform identical tasks much faster.

I'm using CS3 because as on now I'm mofe comfortable with it.
I'm running XP.
