p.1 #1 · Awesome Weekend, Part 1

Hey errybody. I had a pretty insane October. 7 weddings and 12 shoots. Was starting to feel a bit tired, but fun weddings always pick me back up. Here's my first from this past weekend. I'd love your C&C on the images...

Big thanks to Matt Bailly (FM member) who came down from NY to shoot with me. Matt is tremendously talented and need some more pub here on these boards. A few of his shots are mixed in with many more from this wedding on my BLOG. Hopefully Matt will be getting his images back soon and can add some if he'd like. Thanks in advance for feedback!

In #9, your bridesmaids look naked. Although I'm sure that wouldn't bother some folks.

I'm never a fan of the crazy, drunk shots (#16 with her tongue out).

Otherwise, great set as usual.

2 and 8 are great.

12 constantly pulls my eye toward the lighting fixture in the ceiling.

16 is an "eh" for me. I'm not much of a party-picture taker though, so that's just a difference in style.

Incidentally, how do you get those perfectly overcast cloudy days in seemingly every gig you shoot? Do you have divine connections with the man and order that shit up? Love it.

In the northeast it's rained about 500 days this year.... so it's been overcast non-stop. I heard a Southern Cal photog complaining about rain the other day and I almost bought a ticket to California, just to give them a swift kick in the pants.

Tony, 9 looks a bit odd on my monitor. Seems like you toned down the colors a bit (maybe orange and red), and the groom looks really really pale in that shot... almost like a ghost. All the other shots seem really nice though, esp. 3 and 10.

Do you use anything on the speedlight to soften the light? And do you have the speedlight on your camera or a lightstick of some sorts?
