I posted a new wedding on my blog. All the images are with the existing light and we had a lot of fun at this one. The groom is a photographer too and they were very creative with the poses (I guess).
#19, 16, and 21 are great... I really like the composition of the whole run of the shots, but as far as formals of the couple, the three mentioned above rock.
A looks like it should be the cover to a disco album.. I really like the feel of that shot.
D is a love/hate thing for me; I love the feel of the shot, but hate the fact that you have to think about what it next to him on the bench (it looks like a big white object) my opinion would be to have the bride hike her dress up enough to show some toes or something like that to help break up the whiteness of her dress... or even gave her boquet down to differentiate what the viewer is looking at ....
F is pretty cool too, I like the crown
What was your setup for this wedding (what kit did you use?) everything is tack sharp and looks really solid!
Thanks for the feedback. The idea in image D was their idea. I also did a shot with both of them in the picture, so maybe a different crop from that would work better, but I liked this one more. Your idea with her dress being lifted up a bit is good, I may try that next year (if I have a cooperating couple) - I have no more weddings for this season...
The setup was 1ds III + 1d III, 16-35 2.8L II, 24 1.4L, 35 1.4L, 50 1.4, 85 1.2L II, 135 2.0L.
Adrian:
I'm not a wedding photographer but I love the look of available light. These are really nice. Creative compositions that look real. You have captured the wedding completely.
F is one of the hardest to get. The light was really low (good exposure was ISO 1600, f/1.2, 1/80). I underexposed it to get 1/160 by one stop. The people are holding hands and go moving around the table three times. The timeframe to get that composition is very thin (as they are moving) and getting it in focus in low light at 1.2 with the 85 L is really challenging. The good part is that I get three chances. During this "walking around the table" time I also am getting a few wide shots as well. That is an intense moment for me as photographer.
I am quite proud of that one (from the technical point of view) .
