I picked up a D50 for my 11 yo daughter last Christmas......thanks again Rich
She uses the camera occasionally and the usual subject matter consists of her fish, her sister, her feet, her sisters feet........well, you get the idea. That was until this past Tuesday when we were leaving for her sisters Soccer game. I told her to grab her camera and I'd let her use Dad's 70-200. IF, and ONLY if, she promised to be careful with it. She promised and off we went.
I set her camera up for sports shooting and told her to "have at it".
So today I get an e-mail with this pic and a note saying "I think you might like this shot".
I have a pic some where of me at like 8 or 10 loaded down with a vest full of film and crud and dragging a 300 or 400 2.8 on a monopod behind my dad somewhere. He used to use me as a pack mule
awesome, we started with our kids also early (7+5), i believe that when you motivate her, for creative kids it is easy turns into serious hobby.
our girl in night was actually crying when her camera got damaged and she would miss the shoot in school she planed. she have also backup body now (P&S for candid stuff) which she requested recently...
But now i'm curious, what was your subject? Care to share the shots you've both made? Or is the kid already better and you rather not share that with us
