Though contrast is a little high for my tastes. #4 is really quite a nice portrait, nice skin tone, a little catchlight in her eyes would be good though.
Needless to say, the lighting was less than optimal.
Those exposed tungsten bulbs as seen in the first image- that's what I had to work with. And only in two of the shots above did I use flash. The rest were taken at f/1.4, iso 3200.
Not to worry redal, I wouldn't call it a "sport" in the strictest sense of the word, either. I do however shoot boxing, kickboxing, and MMA, as well as a bit of "traditional martial arts", seminars, and sparring/practice/training sessions. I've gotta say though, this thread has a lot more followers than my usual subjects.
Haha, JAson, a bit different than your usual works.
Glad to see you're still shooting MMA. I was supposed to shoot another last Thursday, but the event was post poned last minute. I got 2 more definite shows lined up this year.
Well, I started my Combat Sports career shooting MMA, and did a few boxing events towards the beginning as well. Then it was strictly MMA for over a year, and I also started picking up kickboxing dates, so it was both kickboxing and MMA. Finally, after a 2 year hiatus from boxing, I started picking up boxing events, but no MMA dates for almost a year. This year I've shot quite a few boxing and kickboxing events, but only one straight MMA card. Basically, I pick up whatever comes my way, and unfortunately it hasn't been a whole lot of MMA as of late, though I did break a 1 year streak.
