I would guess that if you are going to power via the mains then you want it for some sort of time laps going on for a long time.? If thats the case then it should in theory last a long time as it doesn't have a shutter to fail. How long the electronics will last is an unknown. Nov 04, 2009 at 10:59 AM

I would say one shot with the right bullet would end the sensor's life in an instant.
