p.1 #1 · Canon G10 how many shots it can take?

Hi, I wonder how many shots Canon G10 camera can take, given the fact it has nor mirror box and that the AF can be locked.

I intend to utilize the Psremote program for this? Any ideas.

Are you asking about frames per second? If P&S cameras are not particularly speedy.

I think he means battery life...
Without the LCD on and without using flash, one battery should last at least 500 shots... just a guess on my part.

I wanted to know how many shots until the camera is dead
I would power it using wall adapter that canon makes for it.

Supposedly 400 frames, but I carry a couple of ebay clone batteries which are tiny

Are you asking about the camera's life expectancy?

the G10 will last for many years. the G1 came out in 2000 and lots of people are still using that camera. afaik, however, there isn't a stated life expectancy measurement for the G series cameras that is analogous to the shutter actuation measurement associated with slr cameras.

AFAIK there aren't many large moving parts in the P&S shutters, so if the sensor remains ok (and the buttons don't fall off) I would expect you could get many many thousands of exposures

you could have been a bit more descriptive in your original post .

I would guess that if you are going to power via the mains then you want it for some sort of time laps going on for a long time.?

If thats the case then it should in theory last a long time as it doesn't have a shutter to fail. How long the electronics will last is an unknown.

Why don't you stand there continually pressing the shutter button until either you or the camera dies and falls over? Then you'll know.

I would bet it would last pretty much a lifetime of use. I still have a G6, still works perfect.

Well ... it depends on the type of "shot". I would say one shot with the right bullet would end the sensor's life in an instant.

However, (seriously), if you take care of the camera, it would probably last you 10-20 years as long as you have new batteries for it.
