I have a little time on my hands before a week long trip to Zimbabwe and thought some of you might enjoy this. This is directed at no-one in particular, and everyone in general, in a lighthearted tongue-in-cheek manner. Please take it as it is meant
The Story:
A couple are going to a new photography gallery opening. Lets call them Fred and Miranda.
When they arrive, Fred pulls out the 20x hand lens to study the images, so nothing out of the ordinary here. Miranda comments about the severe CA on a number of the prints, who wouldn’t notice that after all?
Fred spends time counting the individual pixels on the prints to see if they are good quality. Obviously more pixels equals higher quality, less pixels equals lower quality; or is it the other way around?
Miranda notices that some images (according to their tags) were taken with an EOS 450D, she points out to Fred that only amateurs use that camera, and that the prints will no doubt never sell.
Using the hand-lens, Fred notices a significant amount of diffraction in a lot of the images. He can’t work out what the red dot stuck next to the image means, maybe it means the image is no good? He cant help but see that some of the images are not too sharp either, again the red dot query?
Fred and Miranda in fact conclude that they are better photographers than the people exhibiting, but find it difficult to sell from the computer screen.
Miranda asks Fred if they are going to have sex that evening. Fred replies that he got a new lens that morning and thought he might have a go on that instead.
