And I swear, it anyone comes in here and posts pictures of their dainty movie star looking wife at 8 months pregnant with a youthful glow and trendy outfit on, I may fly right to where you are and kick you from here to kingdom come! I'm a mama... I know how to do it and not get caught.
best quote EVER!!! LOVE YOU and SOOOO PROUD of you!!!

Cute kids - I can't believe you're still shooting so near to the due date. More power to you!
I'd be inclined not to do a family shoot if I had a nasty case of indigestion. Let alone a friggin' baby inside of me. [okay that's not true, but definitely not with a nearly done baby, haha]

HA! Love it! I've taken pics of girls who are smaller then me when they are 8 months preggers (I am not pregnant) and it really kind of pisses me off
You are a super star for just having 4 kids (I have 2 boys 5yrs and almost 2) and that's good!
I didn't do a wedding when I was super preggo but I did have my 8 month old strapped to my back for 3 and half hours while I was shooting my girlfriends wedding in Italy....that was an experience! Just the two of us went over so I had no one to watch him so into the sling he went and he didn't make a peep the whole time.

You'll get through it Mel! Your a trooper... This is a big concern my husband and I have. We've been trying to go through a timeline of the best time to start a family and it never adds up. We've just decided to let nature run its course. Your such an inspiration, I cannot even imagine how miserable it must be shooting while your that far along. Get some rest

You know, I'd honestly say that being due in December was perfect timing. I only really HAD to opt out of November bookings. And it gave me from December to early March as a time-line for "maternity leave". It couldn't have been better if we PLANNED it.

My last wedding was this past Saturday. THANK GOD! I seriously don't think I could have lasted through another one. Isn't that HORRIBLE? At least now I know that Melanie + Pregnacy + Weddings = Extreme fatigue and an inability to THINK. I won't be doing it again. Only now? Now I have to actually edit as many as I can before December 1st... cause the 2nd is when this belly is POPPING.
I wish I didn't have a bazillion family shoots between now and then to add to the stress level. Lord knows the money is NECESSARY right now, so there's no paring down. I think I can get by with five of the eight unedited weddings that are left getting completed. The last three are great clients who probably won't have a cow if they can't see their images until January. I think a teaser of 20 or so images could be helpful in quenching their thirst.
Anyway... I just needed to get it all out. I'm tired and sore and keep having contractions at the most inopportune times. Baby number four better hold within its mind the cure for CANCER... that's all I'm sayin'. ...Show more →
You are doing so well! I had to give away three weddings this November ;( as my due date fell smack bang in the middle of the season. I did my last weddings at 33 weeks (with help from a great FM member here) and there is no way I could do any more because my pelvis has fallen apart!
I totally understand the inabiltity to think - I forgot what settings were on my camera half the time!
TOTALLY GET what you're saying about Baby number four better hold within its mind the cure for CANCER... that's all I'm sayin'. I've only got a couple weeks to go and hopefully get the last two weddings and a kids shoot edited then I'm back into the weddings almost imediately!
ALL THE BEST.

YOU LOOK GREAT!!!
yes, all those caps were necessary! Seriously, you rocked this season and deserve a break. Your family is beautiful and I'm sure they are going to be even more lovely when you see them holding that new addition to the family. Just makes your heart grow even bigger!

That quote just moved you up into Rockstar status in my book.

Hi Melanie
I have been a frequent visitor of FM but just registered tonight. I have 3 little boys, a relatively new photography business, and can not even imagine being that pregnant, and that busy. My very first post goes out to you... you're amazing!
All the best to you and your beautiful family!

Wow, Niki! Thank you very, very much! It's been a rough third tri-mester... but three weeks left and I can finally see the light at the end of the tunnel!
