For no reason, their excuse is high risk activity, since some payments come from nonebay. Then I explained to them that I sold stuff here and other audiowebsite, but no help, they still shut down, eventhough I had great history with them. I AM SO SICK Of PAYPAL......... No matter what I told them they still end up saying the samething " Sorry there's nothing we can do, you either give refund to buyers or wait 6 months".......
Anyone ran into the same problem with paypal? It's hard to give REFUND when I already sent the item and pray the buyers would be honest enough to send back the check
It's so hard to sell anything online WITHOUT HAVING PAYPAL.

I've had at least 75 or so transactions using Google Checkout in the last few years, and never once have I had even the slightest glitch. eBay/PayPal is way out of control, and while I still have an account, I use it only as a final resort. Good luck getting things worked out. Have you called them and had a conversation with an actual person?

Yes, I have called and talked to many of paypal reps, they all are RETARDED. They do not care how I present my case, backed with proof of happy buyers, and in fact, I had faxed them everything they asked for, including social security...... I'm sure they are bunch of scumbags running the show there.
Problem with googlecheck out is that it's just not popular, alot of buyers don't know it and suspect that I'm up to something

Nothing will stop the unreasonable practices and difficulty of dealing with Paypal but a drop in the number of people using Paypal. There are other ways to pay for and receive payment.

What ways? examples please?!?
Any I don't want to pay the 3-4% fee, I'm ok to pay a fix fee or cap the fee like $1-10 50 cents, $11-100 $1, $101-1000 $5, and $1001-$5000 $10.

Personally, I like to actually MAIL thru the US Mail, a US Mail Postal Money Order. Why? Buyer is certain of getting money AND using the US Mail for any part of the transaction makes the entire transaction subject to US Mail Fraud laws (form 8165)...and the postal service DOES investigate and RESOLVE complaints quickly (i.e., scammers straighten up promptly when they are looking at Federal Prison time!). Absolutely the best way to go and it costs the buyer something like $0.70 for the money order and $0.44 for the stamp...I don't know of any cheaper insurance the transaction will go as planned.

George,
But alot of buyers out there are afraid of sellers walking away after receiving the m.o, that's why most like some protection from paypal.
What protection from PayPal? Remember, with PayPal the seller can withdraw the money immediately leaving his PayPal account without funds, so exactly how are you better off? Personally, I'd trust postal investigators and the threat of federal prison time over PayPal. And this isn't speculation...I've used it TWICE and recovered my money within 2 weeks BOTH times, once for the situation you describe above as being afraid might happen and the second time for damaged merchandise. And PayPal takes how many months, if ever?

George,
HOw did you recover when seller disappeared after receiving the M.O? I lost $1,500 once for sending out the M.O so I want to know how you did it to get your moneyback. Thanks

Sorry to hear that I've only had good experiences on eBay with Paypal but stories like this make me concerned.
One thing eBay/Paypal is doing now is they hold funds on camera gear / electronics until the buyer submits positive feedback.
At first as a seller with lots of transactions and 100% feedback, I did not like that.
But on reflection it gives the buyer peace of mind and that helps in selling items.
They also seem to offer buyer and seller protection on most items, never used it but again it promotes confidence.
I prefer dealing on FM where you have full control of who you sell to,
can use multiple payment methods, etc.
Just wish we could list video and other electronics here.

I guess you'd have to ask the postal investigators as I DID get my money back and the person in question had been kicked off eBay over 19 times under more than 19 different names.

I have a bunch of stuff I need to sell, and I'm not a fan of PayPal at all. The only times I got ripped off on eBay, PayPal was involved. They did NOTHING for me at all! (I was buyer.) I'm thinking I'll get a merchant type Visa account through SAMS Club and use that for payments instead of PayPal. I've used U.S. POstal money orders in the past and had 100% luck with those. PayPal actually makes money by tying up your funds for several months. That's what they're really all about--collecting & keeping the interest from other people's money.
