If you can get a 3007wfp for the same price (or close) to a u2410 you'de be mad not to go for it IMO. 2560 x 1600 res is just unbeatable.

I have the 3007 wfp and got it on sale. But the real deal is my friend bought one used for $500 (the guy had 2!)
Even if the price is not close, I'd go for the 3007...fabulous monitor with great calibration results.
Only thing, is that it takes about 1 h45m to warm up until it's fully stable.

I have no idea it takes that long to warm up. It has to stay on most of the time.

I'de be interested to know why people have suggested the u2410 in the poll over the 3007wfp. The colour accuracy between the two is largely negligible, and if you really needed pin point accuracy you wouldn't be looking at Dell monitors. If you have the deskspace to fit a 30" monitor and could get it for close to the price of a 24, as I said before, you'de be mad not to go for it.

I saw a deal for 3007wfp for $600 new, while I am thinking of getting u2410. I do
photo editing, video ang large format printing. I have been on 22" lacie crt ,its now
burned out. Color accuracy is very critical for me. My powerbook G4 cann't catch up with some software ,that requires intel base. All I read about 3007wfp is lack of connectivity no vga port. Does that make any difference.

So you're saying you want to power the external display from a PB G4? You'd better check the specs for your computer, but chances are it may not support a 30" display:

http://www.everymac.com/systems/apple/powerbook_g4/faq/powerbook-g4-video-capabilities-maximum-resolution-external-display-support.html

From the Dell site: "To fully utilize your new 3007WFP monitor and enjoy the ultra-high resolution settings, your PC must have a dual-link DVI-D graphics card that supports 2560x1600 resolution." Based on the link above, it looks like only the very last PB G4 15 & 17" models have dual link DVI support.

No. I sold the PB G4. I am getting Macpro quadcore. I am tired of experimenting. I
kept a Pc on XP pro for my wide format, since the RIP only works on xp. Monitor
is my great concern. Spoiled by the Lacie.

I have the 3007wfp and it's nice and big but you cannot properly calibrate it, there is no contrast button. Thinking about going the other route and getting 2 of the U2410 24" monitors.

Really? Why do you need contrast? What are you using to calibrate? Are you using a hardware device? Sounds like you are using Adobe Gamma or some software based method which is NOT a caibration.

I use ColorEyes Display Pro. I can get the average dE to about 0.5 at 110 (forgot the brightness units). It holds this calibration for a good month. All of the test patterns I have looked at show near perfect results (except for some banding on color gradients which is inconsequencial on real photos) and I can resolve 1,1,1 and 253,253,253 brightness levels (from min and max).

Excellent monitor for the price, as long as you let it warm up enough.

The onscreen display is for what? I do not have a Dell and I get an extra tab which allows me to set the brightness from the PC, which is all you need if you are doing a hardware calibration.
Face it, you will not get accurate results unless you have a hardware device. With this the monitor is excellent for the money.

How do you adjust the RGB , brightnes and contrast. Do you do easy calibration.
I use eyeone display for few years now for my screens. I am upgrading to spyder3 elite. I which it's possible to see these monitors on display, that will be very heplful. Again, I will still be listening to the user's suggestion before buying one.
Thanks.
