Or maybe a game of "Simon Says."

Horses are so alert that you can't sneak up on them. That these guys are so "laid back" indicates they've had a lot of experience at it.
Good capture, Tim- and funny.

Thanks, Charlie.
With huge crowds every weekend during the fall at this farm, these horses are pretty used to the people by now. It's a neat place. Lots of animals to see, fresh apples for sale, pumpkins + more, and there's a huge hay maze for the kids. They also shoot a pumpkin out of a Nikon...er...Cannon ( ) every 20 minutes.

Could you share a few secrets about your conversion? Looks great, I love the light and the contrast.

Cheers,

Prefer the front-end loading.
Definitely works as a set as presented.
Classic, dated look works well here.

Ya got 'em coming and going, Tim. Nice tone and processing.

The owner of this farm has a sleigh. I'm thinking his larger horses not shown here are doing the work though!

Ha! No, plenty of those for free! Not a great place to go barefoot!

The bottom line to processing on this was to saturate the original heavily, and then I converted to b/w in Nik software. I rarely use the defaults, and to be honest, I never use the same tweaks twice, so I can't actually tell you what I did because I don't remember! But that is the basic breakdown.

Thanks, Scott.
Figured I try this side-by-side thing for something like this.
I like these sepia toned images for horses.

It seemed too amusing to pass by without capturing.

Yeah, difference between these guys and you and I is that they're not feeling guilty for laying around! You and I keep looking at our dusty bicycles!
Soon, my friend....soon!

As has been said, excellent capture. The one small thing I noticed is a slight difference in brightness between the two. If you plan on displaying them( you should), you might want to even them up.

Thank you for the kind feedback.
I noticed this too, once I got done. I'm new to presenting these side-by-side images, and haven't figured it all out yet. But there surely is a difference in the brightness between them which needs attention.
