p.1 #1 · Designer camera straps

Does anyone have any good links for designer camera straps? I'm looking for something relatively stylish, yet not overly gaudy. Customization of the strap would be a plus.

Here are some straps I found that I really like: http://www.rileygstrapworks.com/page/page/6735720.htm

I'd like a few more options, but can't really find anything. Any ideas?

Yes sirrrr.....

Action Camera Straps. I've included a link to their web site. Simply outstanding product quality and customer service! First class in my opinion.

Check out their link.

Hope this helps.

Thanks for the link, Adam. Those are in the right ball park, but they're awfully expensive. I was thinking about something $75 or less.

Designer strap on a franks & beans budget? Sounds like the Domke Gripper to me.

Have to agree with the prior posts....

Understand everyone is on a tight budget these days, but as the old saying goes, "You get what you pay for." I have a custom snakeskin strapped to my D700 and wouldn't think of anything less. For me, not only was it the quality craftsmanship, but the very personal customer service. Terry Misner is the owner and operator...the guy treats you like you're family.

I own two domke grippers. They are about as designer as walmart brand jeans.

Did anyone look at the link I posted at all? Those are fantastic looking straps for around $50. Does nothing else exist anywhere? If those are really the best options available, then it looks like I'm buying one of those. I personally think they look better than the far more expensive Action straps.

As a side note, this strap is actually a gift from my girlfriend to me. She basically said "Pick out a strap you like, and I'll buy it for you". She's in college and on a budget. $50-75 is doable. $150 is not.

None of those look as comfortable under load as a neoprene strap such as an Optech or Tamrac boomerang. Youngsters must have strong shoulders and backs.

Comfort? I use one of those sheepskin shoulder belt pads from the auto section at walmart. Can't beat it for comfort.

I did not even know abou those designer straps...hmmm, guess I'm boring. I like either the ones that come with it or Upstrap...boring. But those do look nice...

my favorite straps have been custom modified versions of both the simple A&A Cloth strap and the UpStrap Bandolier strap... I had the A&A (style) strap's cotton strap material swapped for some nylon webbing that was longer, and on my UpStrap i had the adjustability function taken out.

Can it be any more bling than having a big CANON or NIKON sewn around your strap?

Ideally less bling.

Really though. Anyone have any links for me?

The latest Nikon straps are particularly bad. Massive yellow letters screaming the camera model, the fact that its FX etc etc. I had to dig up some of my old straps that were much more subtle.

I've never understood why one would want to pay so much money to have a snake around one's neck

I like the optech straps.

To be honest I wouldnt waste her money on something like that. I have found that the best strap I have used is the old style Nikon strap for the FM2/F3hp. Understated, comfy and it doesn't scratch your camera.

Black on black. Little black dress. Slender black strap. It's classic.

Neck strap? I can't use one. Just a wrist strap. A piece of .125" climbing rope, or a shoelace will do. Pretty designer, huh?!

The Riley straps look really nice! Thanks for the link.

I'd really consider ordering one, but I'm pretty happy with my R-Strap RS-4 and it looks pretty nice in its own right and is super comfortable to wear around all day.
