How much do you spend on web sites, hosting, business cards, photo albums, clothes for meeting clients and weddings, coffees with potential couples?
All of those things are BRANDING because they represent you and your business .
What’s the average cost for you to get a new customer/client? Do you even know? So is your DVD case an expense or advertising opportunity for your business which builds your brand and a final opportunity to brand yourself with customers who can provide ongoing referrals?
Why do you print yourself/ use a pro lab vs. going to Walmart for your prints? The first options cost more so why do it? Is it because you want to present the best possible product that separates you from your competition or what they could have done at home themselves? Is price an issue there or have you built it into your pricing already?
Now go back to the questions you just finished. $20 on a $1,500 wedding package is 1.3% (and that’s before the tax deduction for it). Do your own math using your numbers but I ask is it really that much to invest in YOUR business?
If you can find a case for $1.50 that's truly great but if it's going to cost you $30 to showcase your business the way you want customers to see you then so be it. Just be sure to break it down on a cost a cost per wedding to keep it in perspective sort of like you do with camera equipment and your car.
Ultimately we all decide where we want to invest in our businesses and my personal belief is that you shouldn't skimp when it comes to interactions with clients when you can use it as an opportunity to seperate yourself from competitors.
