p.1 #1 · Stonehenge/Salisbury

Ventured out to Stonehenge and Salisbury Cathedral today. Man is England a sweet country!

Anyways, in case you haven't been following my study abroad adventures, I killed my 35L and so it's out of commission for now. I brought along my Sigma 24-70 as its replacement today and I rediscovered how much I love 24mm. And unfortunately, the love of a certain focal length and L primes will eventually spell out doom for my wallet. Anyways, all that to say that this is a lot wider and different perspective than my usual nonsense. I think I'm kinda diggin' it.

For those of you who would like to see the rest of my adventures, you can backtrack through my links starting here, or just go straight to my blog.

As always, C&C appreciated and more on the blog.

Sorry there's so many this time

Enjoy!

Hi Mike,

Very nice set of images.

I enjoyed seeing the clouds around the cathedral and Stonehenge too.

The interior of the cathedral sure is pretty in that light.

Such nice photos to have for your future too.

Thanks for sharing them. I wish I had seen those same things in that same light.

Hi,

I'm just curious what set up/settings you used for the above "amazing" shots. Love every one of them.

Thanks folks.

4, 6, and 16 were taken with my 135L and 5D2. All the rest were with a Sigma 24-70 2.8 EX. Copy to copy variation with that sucker can be pretty brutal, but if you send it in to be calibrated enough times, you'll eventually end up with a pretty sweet little Siggy

All shots were shot in raw and manual and were processed in Lightroom. This set was a little weird for me personally because I normally shoot at 2.8 or bigger and use primes, but my KIA 35L made me bring out the Siggy for a bit. I also don't do much landscape stuff, so it's a bit strange for me to see my style played out in shots with large DOF. But maybe that's just me

Like them all but LOVE #12 except that its not centered. Don't get me wrong I usually am not a big fan of the perfectly centered shots but this one seems so symmetrical and its just off to the right. I wonder why?

Glad you guys enjoyed them.

As for #12 not being framed perfectly in the center... I don't know. It just seemed a little too obvious to me, although I can see how it would be a great shot centered as well.
