Again, shot with my MK2 with the 300/2.8 at 3.5, flash on ETTL +1/3, ISO 640, manual mode, ss @ 250, flash on a bracket. A little challenging with white and dark jerseys.
They look great to me. Are you putting your lens on a monopod, but still having your camera on a bracket on to put your flash on? I have never tried that. I have my flash about 18-24" below the camera on my monopod. What kind of ambient light is at that stadium. I am getting a 300 lens this week and will be trying it out Thursday and Friday night.
I use a Manfrotto 233b flash bracket. The 300 is mounted on the bracket on a monopod and the flash is about 14 inches above the camera. I like this bracket as it puts the flash off center from the lens.
I'm impressed. White uniforms, perfectly exposed....very good.
Good shots too, I like the action, 1,2, 4, and 8 are my favorites. This is some of the better flash photogaphy I've seen, for one thing, it's not obvious to me that you used flash. I mean, very well balanced, none of the "flashed look" I get sometimes, and that I see from others.
Really good set.

I agree.
This is exactly where I'm trying to get my exposures... great balance between background ambient and flash... nice whites... good pop without being over saturated. No motion blur. No harsh shadows. No demon eyes and red eye was easily fixed.
Nice.
Judging from the shadow in #4, was your flash bracket raised 18"+?
