p.1 #1 · Flu season Blech!

Anyone else get lucky enough to wind up with the Flu? How many of you have had to shoot under the weather and what do you do to help get through the shoot? I took a regualr scheduled Friday night HSFB assignemt which are doled out on Thursday. Thursday I felt a little off but no biggie. Friday came and man am I hammered!! It hurts to even think. Anyway there is no calling the editor back because one of the staffers is down too and that would make things worse in the long run. So it's "Suck it up" time tonight.

While it's commendable to want to work when ill, this is a problem with illnesses like influenza. When you cough, sneeze, or place your hands on items that will be in contact with others (doorknobs, telephones, etc), you are transmitting the virus to the unsuspecting. It is much better for you to stay at home until you are not likely to be contagious. For swine influenza, the recommendation is 7 days from the onset of symptoms, or 24 hours after you no longer have any fever, whichever is sooner.

You can always ask your employer. Would they prefer to have one employee absent for a few days, or several other employees absent in a few days when they come down with the flu, having contracted it from you.

I hope you get better soon.
