Currently, I have Zenfolio and find that it is very suitable for event photography. I can set up a directory structure, password protection, different price lists, etc.
However, Zenfolio does not provide the means for each photo's description and associated keywords to be indexed by search engines. In order to accomplish this, I believe others have gotten around this shortcoming by creating a front end to their Zenfolio pages that feeds the photo's keywords to a search engine.
Question is..... is there another photo hosting service that better accommodates portfolio-style selling that deals with Zenfolio's shortcoming of not aiding in getting visitors via search engine hits?
But is anybody who has addressed Zenfolio or similar photo hosting site's shortcomings willing to share more specifics (URLs, naming their web hosting site, front-end page setup/content, etc) regarding their implementation?
try photoshelter.com
more expensive than Zenfolio, but with a huge emphasis on SEO.
I started on PS, thought I was spending too much so I switched to Zenfolio, have just began the migration back to PS after realising it's what I wanted all along
I have a wordpress based main site, with Photoshelter integrated (well... *almost* integrated, I'm trying to get it done myself) for the shopping cart/image hosting. With Zenfolio, I had 2 seperate sites, one for "portfolio" and one for sales.
